Active Release Therapy (ART) is a movement based, soft tissue treatment technique which is used to treat dysfunction with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.

When performing ART, the practitioner uses his or her hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments and nerves.  Abnormal tissues are treated by the practitioner applying precisely directed pressure to the patient’s body while the patient performs very specific active movements.

Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, ilio-tibial (IT) band syndrome, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be treated with ART.
